All are welcome. We are particularly in need of male actors.

Decisions on casting will be made in the next week. The Crowborough Playershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03028470582295035818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7949493807371736085.post-3870166574125263902007-12-10T16:06:00.001-08:002007-12-10T16:12:03.385-08:00November 2007 NewsletterPlay Reading – Two well lubricated evenings in July were spent reading several plays from which we selected Neil Simon’s famous comedy The Odd Couple for our Autumn Production. Our accents are so good you will never believe we aren’t really Americans and Spaniards!!! Rehearsals have been great fun and all we need now is an audience. We would love to see all our members packing out the CCA Hall so rush now to buy your tickets (£6 & Concessions £4.50) from This & That, Marguerites or ring 07983 043201. If you can’t make Friday 30th November at 8 p.m. then there is always the matinee on Saturday December 1st at 2.30 p.m. or in the evening at 8 p.m.

Barbecue – Clever clogs or what! We picked the hottest day of the year and sizzled ourselves as well as the meat. Whether Marion’s neighbours are still speaking to her is doubtful as we laughed loudly and a lot and generally behaved in a melodramatic fashion (these theatrical types) due no doubt to the fruit juice we were drinking! We also made a grand profit of £70 to add to our coffers.

Spring Production Meeting – We are holding a meeting in the small room in the CCA Hall at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8th 2008 to discuss the possibility of doing a Murder Mystery on 14th/15th March. We know we will make a loss on the play unless a miracle happens so we need to make some money and this is the only guaranteed way to do it. However it is labour intensive (especially the kitchen) and Nuptial Murder has quite a large cast (6M & 6W). We have to make a definite go/no go decision at the meeting so if you are interested in participating in any capacity please make this date a priority. If we cannot fill all the roles on stage, back stage and FOH at the meeting we regretfully will not be doing a Spring production.

Club Dinner – Saturday January 19th, 2008 is the date set for our Bacchanalian orgy at the Blue Anchor, Crowborough. If enough people are interested we will get a special price and circulate their new menus in the New Year. At the moment the maximum price for 3 courses is £24.50 but we would hope to get a reduction on that. All members and partners are welcome so please contact Marion Cowie before Christmas if you wish to participate in this event. Even if you are not thinking of coming it would be helpful if you could let us know so we don’t waste time and money ringing round.

AGM – The date of the AGM is 6th May at 8 p.m. in the small room at the CCA Hall. This could be a pivotal meeting so please do your best to attend. The Crowborough Playershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03028470582295035818noreply@blogger.com
